Metamex Engineering was established to solve a problem most manufacturers know well: finding a single, reliable partner who can handle a project from initial design through to finished component. Most companies specialise in one discipline. We built Metamex to offer CNC turning, milling, fibre laser cutting and CAD design under one roof, with the consistency and accountability that comes from a dedicated team rather than a patchwork of subcontractors.
As part of the Excell Engineering Group — a Portsmouth-based manufacturing group with roots going back to 2000 — we draw on decades of collective knowledge while investing in the latest CNC and laser technology to stay ahead of what our clients need.

Our Expansion
The launch of Metamex Engineering represented a significant step forward for the Excell Engineering Group. New premises in Portsmouth, investment in a Colchester Combi 6000 CNC turning lathe, a YCM EV1020A milling machine and a 1500W fibre laser cutter — alongside an in-house CAD design capability using Autodesk Fusion 360 — capabilities that opened up an entirely new range of possibilities for our clients and the wider group.
It marked a genuine step change in what we could offer: faster production, greater capacity, and the ability to take on work that simply wasn't feasible before. Projects that previously required multiple suppliers can now be handled in one place.
